-Enjoy modern hot spring treatment style-

The ``Honkan'' of the spa building is a building where you can enjoy the atmosphere of an old spa. Currently, we are basically self-service, where you have to do things like putting up and taking down the futon yourself.

As the building is designated as an important cultural property and is Japan's oldest remaining hot spring inn, we ask that you refrain from cooking your own meals.We will serve simple and nutritious meals in the form of bento boxes that are suitable for daily meals at a hot spring inn. We will prepare it for you.
Whether you are staying for a long time or just for one night, please feel free to enjoy a stay unique to the hot springs building where you can soothe your mind and body in the hot springs.

    There is no room attendant, and it is an old-fashioned hot spring cure style where you have to raise and lower the futon.

    Bathrooms and toilets are shared facilities. (Some rooms do not have washrooms.)

    Sound echoes because of the wooden structure. Please refrain from using if you are sensitive to sound. Also, please understand that there are some damaged parts because it is an old building.

At dinner in the Honkan, you can enjoy Joshu barley pork strained soup. Koshinejiru is Gunma's local soup, named after the initials of three vegetables: konnyaku, shiitake mushrooms, and green onions. Plenty of carefully prepared dashi stock, vegetables, and Joshu barley pork. Vegetables are used abundantly and are good for the body, and the taste goes well with rice.

Information for customers
  • Dinner is served between 18:00 and 19:30.
    *You can also bring it to your room and eat it yourself. Even in that case, please return the tableware to the dining venue by 19:30.
  • If you wish, you can change to the "Four Seasons Set" with more sashimi and small bowls for an additional charge of 2,500 yen (excluding tax). Please contact us by 21:00 the day before.
  • Both the “Sekizen Bento” and “Shiki Gozen” come with free refills of rice and Joshu barley pork strained soup.
  • It is also possible to order additional bespoke dishes.
  • A corkage fee will be charged for bringing beverages into the dining room. Please note.
    *In the case of a meal plan in the ryokan building, a "carry-in fee" will be charged for bringing drinks into the dining venue.
  • For guests staying consecutive nights, the menu will be prepared on a daily basis.
  • Children's lunch boxes with meals for elementary school students and younger are prepared with a menu for children that is different from the simple and nutritious lunch boxes for adults.

It was built as a two-story building in the 4th year of the Genroku era, and has since been expanded and remodeled to its present form. Please choose a room according to the number of guests.

The building next to the Honkan is made of reinforced concrete. This is a room with natural floor heating, where the source flows under the floor. Because it is close to Genroku-no-Yu, it is a popular room for long-stay guests.
